Platform 4 Group and Event Planning Group have been appointed as the Games Delivery Coordination Services partners for the World Masters Games 2017,
Auckland will host the ninth edition of the World Masters Games from 21 to 30 April, 2017, during which time 25,000 athletes will compete in 28 sports across 48 competition venues. The Games are regarded as the largest event New Zealand will host in the next decade.
The event enhances the City’s global reputation as a major event destination. Auckland was awarded the best Medium Sports City at the coveted Sport Business Awards, announced at Sportaccord, Lausanne, Switzerland in April 2016.
In announcing the appointment, World Masters Games 2017 CEO, Jennah Wootten said, “World Masters Games 2017 is looking forward to working with the combined team from the Event Planning Group and Platform 4 Group as part of our Games Delivery project. The collective experience that EPG/P4G bring from working on previous major international events in Auckland and other multi-sport events around the world will complement the knowledge of our internal team and assist us all in planning for the successful delivery of the event in Auckland in April 2017”.
This is a huge win for the Platform4 team, and we’re delighted to be involved. We’re looking forward to working with the EPG team and the World Masters Games 2017 team to further enhance and grow the capability in New Zealand for the delivery of major international events.
